The short orientation

Read the treatment name before the fitness claim

“Peptide therapy” is a broad phrase. Before comparing offers, find out what is actually being offered.

What the word tells you

Amino acids are protein building blocks; the word peptide names a short string of those blocks.

Insulin is a peptide, so the word itself does not mean a new or experimental product.

In the US, approval is checked for each drug, so “peptide therapy” alone cannot tell you whether an offered medicine is approved; this was the position in September 2026.

The September 2026 rules leave three things to ask about: an FDA-approved product, a medicine that a pharmacist or doctor mixes to order under compounding law, or an unapproved drug sold for treatment. Compounding can be legal when its rules are met, but the resulting medicine has no FDA approval.

Turn the phrase into a clear question

  • Which drug name would appear on the prescription?
  • What health problem would it address in my case?
  • What evidence applies to that exact use?
  • Who would assess me, and who would fill the prescription?

A training goal is a helpful place to open a visit. Ask what the plan would look like if the person treating you did not recommend a medicine.
